Charities and other not-for-profit organizations across Canada strive to make the world a better place, whether they’re helping those in need, serving a community, supporting a faith, advocating for common interests, working to make the world a safer place or enriching lives.
Most organizations have two sets of clients: those who benefit from the programs and services offered and those who fund them. Many not-for-profits are supported by government grants, but increasingly these are becoming harder to secure.
Charitable organizations require generous private donations simply to sustain and strengthen their annual operations. For these organizations, the raising of funds is as critical as the community services they provide. Without successful fundraising, year after year, their very existence is jeopardized.
