Personal Information

PhilanthroPlan does not automatically gather any personal information from you, such as your name, phone number or email address.
This information is only obtained if you provide it voluntarily, by contacting us via email, or through the use of an online form. Any personal information you do provide is managed consistent with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Although we make no attempt to link the information captured to the identity of specific individuals, the information captured may identify the following:

  • the type of browser and operating system used to access our website
  • screen resolution of your monitor
  • the date and time you access our website
  • the pages you visit
  • the address of any website from which you linked to the website

This information is used to help us make the PhilanthroPlan website more useful to our guests by learning about the number of visitors to our website, and by monitoring traffic patterns and the types of technology our visitors use. We do not track or record information about specific individuals and their visits. Visitor information is not disclosed to anyone except PhilanthroPlan personnel who need the information for legitimate business purposes such as responding to a product inquiry or information request.

Use of Cookies

A cookie is a small piece of text information that is sent to your browser when you access a website. Your browser will return this cookie information to the domain where the cookie originated. We do not regularly use “cookies” to track how our visitors use the site; when cookies are used, they may be used to help you fill in forms or track your use of the website.
If you are concerned about the use of cookies, you can refer to the help information in your browser software for information on how to disable cookies. If you wish to delete cookies from your machine, consult your browser’s help files for instructions on how to do so.
A cookie is used by PhilanthroPlan only when there is persistent data that is required to use the website, i.e. Administration Mode, and when an E-Commerce order form is being completed. For general viewing of pages, cookies are not used.
When a user is wishing to purchase the product(s) that they have selected, they will be asked to complete an online form. When a user completes a section of the form and clicks on the "Next" button, not only does the form progress to the “Next” page but a cookie is created on the computer of the visitor with the information that they have just completed. The purpose of the shopping basket cookie is to remember your information so that if you leave or get disconnected and come back to the order form, our server will determine if there is a cookie present. If not, the order form will be empty. If a cookie is present, then the form will be filled in with the information that was previously submitted.

Security Monitoring

All login attempts to the PhilanthroPlan Administration Mode are monitored. Each failed attempt is logged and analyzed. If a user attempts to log in to the PhilanthroPlan website and fails 4 times, the user will be "locked out" and will need to contact us for further direction.

E-Commerce Module

Our E-Commerce Module incorporates SSL technology provided by a Certificate Authority, and a Payment Gateway provided by Beanstream. When you are completing the ordering process, your payment details are forwarded to Beanstream using a secure connection. Your credit card details are not saved to the PhilanthroPlan Database.

Information collected in emails and web forms

Should you choose to provide us with personal information—as in an email or by filling out a form and submitting it to us through our website—we will use that information to respond to your message and to help us source the information you have requested.
